We had a really great time this morning honoring our veterans and fallen heroes by participating in the 5th Annual Dunean Historical Society WWII Memorial Celebration. It is truly an honor to participate in such a well organized tribute to those who have given so much to defend our nation and the freedoms that we enjoy today. To those who have served we honor you on this special day. To those we are currently serving we thank you for your service and your sacrifice.
Welcome to the home of the Greenville Textile Heritage Band. Founded in 2007, The Greenville Textile Heritage Band is a unique musical ensemble dedicated to the preservation of the rich textile history of the Upstate of South Carolina while contributing to the musical arts through old-fashioned, musical entertainment. Modeled after the mill village bands of the early 1900’s, the band uses authentic period repertoire, instruments, and costuming to communicate the historical and cultural significance the textile industry has had on the history of the Upstate.
The Textile Band has been invited to perform throughout the Upstate of South Carolina as well as in Charleston, Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina. The band enjoys playing for history festivals and mill reunions, but we’ve also been honored to play for the South Carolina Music Educators Association and for several Greenville Drive baseball games.
For current list of performances you can check out our calendar of events. If you have an event or need more information about a possible performance, please send us a booking request. If you need more information about the band, our mission or simply want to chat about the weather, please feel free to contact us.
